Almost £12,000 of gardening equipment has been stolen after a burglary at a Salterforth garden centre.

Salterforth Nurseries and Garden Centre in Moor Lane was targeted by thieves overnight between Friday and Saturday when a concrete statue was used to break in and garden tools were used to break through subsequent locks.

A wheelbarrow and trolley have been used to carry off the haul and police believe this has been done by several offenders with the use of transport.

Also taken in the break in was a large quantity of Hozelock equipment from hosepipes to nozzles and spray guns worth £500.
