Detectives investigating a report of rape in Burnley have arrested a man.

The 30-year-old man, from Nelson, has been arrested on suspicion of raping a 14-year-old girl and is currently in police custody.

The incident is alleged to have happened at around 9am on Tuesday, January 1st, at the bottom of the steps close to Charter Walk car park and involved a teenage girl.
