A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He has been released under investigation.

DC David Bowler, of Lancashire Constabulary’s East Division CID, said: “We are still trying to establish the circumstances of this attack, which has left the victim with a nasty injury to his face.

“He is likely to be scarred for life.

“At the time of the attack there were a lot of people on the dance floor and the surrounding area who will have seen what happened.

“We would ask them to come forward and tell us what they saw.”
