Motorists stopped in Clitheroe in 'non-essential' travel clampdown

The clampdown was in response to reports of anti-social driving and covid breaches in and around Barrow Brook.
PC Butterworth, of Ribble Valley Police , said: "In response to many reports of anti-social driving and potential Covid breaches around the service area of Barrow Brook, myself and colleagues have spent a lot of time in the area making regular visits to establish exactly what is going on.

Hide Ad"It has been a great opportunity to gather information and intelligence and also engage with visitors to the area. In excess of 40 vehicles have been checked and numerous owners spoken too and advised in relation to the manner of their driving and also Covid regulations."
He added: "Tickets are still being issued for unnecessary travel and any other breaches of the current guidelines so please consider this if you are travelling from out of the area to meet with friends."
