Nelson man faces £25,000 deception charges

A NELSON man has appeared before Pennine magistrates accused of a string of deceptions totalling almost £25,000.

Akbar Ullah (32), of Leeds Road, is charged with nine allegations of fraud by false representation, between March, 2009 and September,2010.

He is alleged to have falsely claimed he had the capability and resources to provide a service to Debt Advisory Line, Money Debt and Credit, Thornton Shepherd Associates, Johnson Geddes, Kensington Knight, Hamilton Associates, Debt Free Direct, Pentagon and Debt Matters.

The defendant will have his case heard at the crown court and was given unconditional bail until May 12th for committal proceedings.
