Police car attacked with stones by youths in Padiham

Stones were thrown at a police car as officers attended incidents of anti-social behaviour and alleged drug taking.

Thankfully, there was no damage caused to the police car or officers, but patrols have been increased in and around the Cambridge Drive and Norfolk Avenue areas of Padiham.

In a Facebook post from yesterday evening, PC Chris McKee, Community Beat Manager for Burnley West, said: "Burnley West Neighbourhood Policing Team are currently on patrol around Cambridge Drive and Norfolk Avenue in Padiham, after reports from local residents of continued anti-social behaviour. Stones being thrown at vehicles, abusive language towards residents and drug taking are amongst the reports made. The stones thrown at our police vehicle will confirm one of these reports, thankfully no damage was caused.
