POLICE are appealing for information after a bus driver was punched in Colne.

The incident happened at 3-40pm on Sunday, September 9th, on the number 28 bus from Colne to Earby.

The offender got on the bus with hot food and was told it was not allowed on the bus. He then threw the food in a bin before approaching the female driver and punching her on the arm.

When he got off the bus in the Earby area, he told the driver she has lost him his tea, he would remember that and she should watch this space.

The driver was not seriously hurt but was left distressed after the incident.

PC Martin Vernon from Colne Police, said: “I appeal to anyone who recognises the man in this picture to come forward and contact the police. Fortunately the bus driver was not seriously injured but nobody should have to experience that kind of behaviour while simply doing their job. The person responsible needs to be dealt with.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Colne police on 101.

People with information can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
