Sex offender jailed after snatching girl from street

A convicted sex offender is today starting a life sentence behind bars - with the recommendation he serves at least six-and-a-half years - after snatching a six-year-old girl from the street where she was playing.

The little girl was bundled into the back of Imran Kahn’s car and drive four miles from her home in Burnley to Hapton, where she was dumped in a wheelie bin and discovered by a member of the public in a distressd state.

Khan, who is aged 34 and from Pendle Street, Accrington, was already on the sex offenders’ register after being convicted of an offence against a 12-year-old when he struck in March.

He pleaded guilty at Preston Crown Court to charges of kidnap, kidnap with intent to commit a sexual offence and breach of a sexual offences prevention order.
