Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was robbed in Nelson.
The incident happened between 5-15pm and 5-30pm on Thursday, November 17th, when the victim, a 19-year-old man, was walking along the underpass between Surrey Road and Conduit Street near to the cricket club.
He was approached by two men who asked for his wallet before they grabbed hold of him and stole the wallet and his black Wileyfox Swift mobile phone.
DC Hannah Tofalos, of Burnley CID, said: “This was a frightening incident for the victim and thankfully he didn’t suffer any injuries. I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time of the robbery and saw any suspicious activity to contact us.”
Both offenders are described as being aged around 17 to 18 years old with olive skin, dark hair and slim build. One was wearing a dark grey jacket and the other a black zip up jacket and black trousers.
A 17-year-old boy from Nelson has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries until February.
