Weapons sweep in Burnley parks to combat knife crime

A team of Police Cadets are supporting Burnley neighbourhood policing team to conduct a weapons sweep across the parks in the town.

The high visibility initiative is part of an ongoing effort by Lancashire Police to tackle knife crime.

Sgt Victoria Bramley and PC Ashley James, of Burnley Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "Today our Cadets are supporting Burnley neighbourhood policing team in a national week of action against knife crime #OpSceptre.

"We will be conducting weapon sweeps of local parks along with other activities about the seriousness of knife crime and the sale of knives to underage people.
