There was plenty of male bonding at Barrowford Pre-School as they held a Bring Your Dad to Nursery Day.
It wasn’t just dads but granddads, uncles, brothers and other male role models who were invited to spend time with their children.
“At nursery we value the importance of parental involvement and support, and regularly hold sessions to invite parents, family and friends into nursery,” said Nursery Manager Karen Ashworth.
“A substantial body of research has charted the impact that parental participation in learning activities can have on their child’s educational achievement, especially a strong positive relationship with fathers and father-figures.
“The children have enjoyed sharing their learning with their dads, brothers, uncles both inside the nursery and outside.”
The dads were also put through their paces by football coach Rob McAuley from IPlay Soccer Schools .
Ms Ashworth continued: “It is lovely that the dads have taken time out from their busy work schedules to attend the sessions.
“The children love showing them around nursery and the activities they take part in.
“The sessions are always well supported and it also gives the dads the opportunity to socialise with each other in the setting.
“The nursery is situated on Bull Holme Playing Fields in Barrowford so is the perfect environment for lots of outdoor learning opportunities.”
