A dog walker was taken to hospital with leg injuries after falling down an embankment in Trawden on Friday morning.

Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team were called to Hollins Hall by the North West Ambulance Service at 10-32am.

The 64-year-old man was treated at the scene, before then being transported to Hospital.

A RPMRT spokesman said: “Our first vehicle was on scene within 15 minutes where our team leader and paramedic Pete joined the NWAS crew and helped administer pain relief and splints.

“The casualty was then put in a ‘cas bag’ (a large warm sleeping bag type piece of equipment).

“The casualty was then placed on our MIBS stretcher and carried to the ambulance for onwards transportation to hospital. All three RPMRT emergency response vehicles attended and other team members went direct in their own vehicles.”

The North West Air Ambulance also attended the incident.
