It is believed the car came off the road, spun around 180 degrees and collided with the stone wall. No other vehicles were involved.

A 24-year-old passenger in the car was taken to hospital with head injuries as a precaution, police said.

When emergency services arrived on the scene both men were out of the car and being treated by off-duty nurses.

Firefighters helped to make the car safe following the accident.
