An Earby garage has motored ahead of the rest to take the chequered flag for best in the country.
Earby Autos Ltd beat 415 other UK garages under the AutoCare umbrella to top step on the podium for the AutoCare Garage of the Year Award.
Garage owners are brother and sister Tom Lancaster and Lucy Cunliffe and the best garage award was one of three they came home with from the ceremony in Milton Keynes .
Earby Autos Ltd was the second UK garage to sign up with the AutoCare group when it launched more than a decade ago so Tom and Lucy collected a 10 year anniversary plaque and a also picked up a Master Technician Award.
They began working for their parents, Bryan and Alyson who founded the garage in 1982, in 1998.
Alyson ran a small accessory shop on the high street while Bryan worked as a mobile mechanic specialising at that time in agricultural vehicles, as a result of his family’s farming background.
By 1993 the business had grown significantly and Bryan and Alyson purchased the current site which at the time was a petrol station, a shop and a workshop.
The business went from strength to strength and Tom and Lucy took control in 2009, with Tom’s wife Amy starting around the same time, helping to continue to drive on its excellent reputation.
Lucy said: “We are thrilled and honoured to have received this national award from Autocare and it is a credit to the hard work and dedication of the Earby Autos team.
“We have always used Raynors, my parents used them from day one and they have never given us a reason to use anyone else.
“They have always been very supportive and thus deserve our business, particularly since we became an AutoCare member.
“AutoCare has been a massive help with the marketing of our business, the promotions are great and look really professional, we are happy to promote them and the brand as much as we can.”
