Children at St Joseph’s RC Primary School in Barnoldswick have donned denim to raise money for charity during Dementia Awareness Week.

Some of the school’s pupils recently became the first Dementia Friends in Pendle and each child paid £1 to come in to school dressed in denim.

After school, an awareness evening was held and two members of the Alzheimer’s Society came and delivered Dementia Friend training to more than 40 members of the community.

A raffle also took place and refreshments were sold taking the total raised for the Alzheimer’s Society to £220.
