Leadership and teamwork skills were put to the test as Colne Primet Academy students enjoyed a “Prefect Training Day”.
A group of 26 Year 10 Primet students visited Nelson and Colne College to prepare for their upcoming responsibilities in Year 11.
Activities included students sharing their business ideas in “Dragon’s Den” style, where they pitched to staff members and the rest of the group. Tim Curtis, Key Stage Four Head of Student Experience, who was helped on the day by Employer and Community Projects Manager Barbara Livesey, said: “Students have been fantastic and I have been delighted with their enthusiasm and confidence in presenting business ideas. They are a real credit to the Academy and to their parents, and I look forward to them representing the school from September.”
