Pendle Council’s Nelson Committee will visit the site of a proposed 36 metre tall wind turbine before deciding whether it can be erected.

Members had been recommended to give permisssion to DC21 Group when they met on Monday night, but they decided they wanted to visit the site in Delves Lane, Southfield, first.

A report to the meeting said there were already a number of turbines in the area and the nearest inhabited buildings, the Shooters Arms pub, Shelfield Farm and Ringstone House Farm, all being between 410 metres and 625 metres away.

Environmental Health officers said they were satisfied with an assessment showing any noise from the development would not be detrimental to any nearby receptor.
