Doris Haigh and Jessica Lomas, two familiar faces in Earby, have been invited to take up positions as town councillors.
Doris has been involved with local government on and off since first being elected as a borough councillor in 1986.
Jessica cooks for the Tuesday seniors’ club and the Friday luncheon club at New Road Community Centre, as well as running her Just Ask Jess business.
She said: “I heard that Earby Town Council were looking for people so I put myself forward.
“As soon as I spoke to the clerk Stephen Schollick my mind was made up and I wanted to help the people of Earby and try and make a difference.”
Doris added: “I had thought about a lot and I decided to bite the bullet. I know what it involves and I’m delighted.”
