Firefighters were called to a cooker fire in Colne on Monday evening.

The blaze broke out at a property in Seddon Street at around 8-30pm.

Crews from Nelson raced to the scene and out the flames out using a dry powder extinguisher. A ventilation unit was also required to clear away the smoke.

The cooker was severely damaged by the fire and there was some smoke damage to both the kitchen and light smoke damage to the rest of the property.

There were no casualties.
