CALLING all parents and parents-to-be in Pendle!

On Sunday a special one-off event catering for mothers, babies and toddlers is being held at the Oaks Hotel in Reedley to celebrate parenthood and raise money for a leading parenting charity.

Lancashire’s Mother, Baby and Toddler Fair will be providing a whole host of fun and activities from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. as well as giving you the chance to pick up some discounted bargains from an array of stalls selling everything a mother could possibly need.

And while treating yourself and little ones to an abundance of goodies and necessities there will also be an opportunity to help raise money for the UK’s top parenting charity - the National Childbirth Trust, who will be on hand to offer advice and information.

Organiser and mother-to-be Jessica Eccles knows just how hard it is for mothers embarking on parenthood and hopes that the day will unite fellow mums while providing lots of giggles and memories.

“We think its about time to start celebrating being a parent in Lancashire, so we have organised Lancashire’s Mother, Baby and Toddler Discount fair. We want to bring mums, dads and children together for a day that will be remembered that will be something fun for all the family to enjoy.”

Dozens of stalls will be set up at the Oaks Hotel both indoors and outdoors selling everything from adult and children’s clothes to personalised keepsakes to edible goodies which are all being offered at great prices.

Jessica said: “We want everyone to forget we’re in a recession and come and let their hair down for one day and that is why all our stalls are offering fantastic discounts, so you are definitely going to pick up a bargain on the way. It is the perfect excuse to take a well deserved trip out.”

For the children there will be a huge outdoor bouncy castle as well as catch a duck on a hook, and there will be indoor treasure hunts, face painting and fancy dress competitions as well as musical statues and many more fun games.

And for any new mums there will be antenatal and baby sign language demonstrations, cloth nappy stalls, Precious Memories providing hand and foot castings and underwater photography all taking place.

Local midwives will also be on site and there are buggy-cise exercise classes to get involved with - so make sure you bring your prams!

Jessica added: “We are helping raise money for the NCT and they will be here talking to parents about what they do. And if you get involved in the raffle not only will you be adding to a great cause, you will also have the chance to win some brilliant prizes donated by our stall holders.”
