What is love?
To speak to those who nobody wants
To listen not just talk
To, let them feel they’re not alone.
It’s their world too,
Not just our home.
For this world can be a lonely place
When all you want is a friendly face.
And there is one
Who reigns above.
His arms are wide open
And his heart is full of love.
To be loved by him
And your wants are nil
For his love he will send
For your heart and mind to fill
With compassion for others.
Every race, every creed:
Love, just love, is all they need.
We are so wrapped up
In our own little world
We fail to see into the darkness
That has been hurled
And all they want, it’s sad but so true, is
Just to be valued, not ignored by you.
When we learn to give this love
Then our hearts with compassion will he flood.
Love cannot be counted,
Love cannot be bought,
But in the small things you do
It gets brought right back to you.
Do give it freely and don’t foolishly part;
Let it come not from the head
But always from the heart.
