Head injury leads to death of Nelson man

An inquest has concluded that a Nelson man’s death was accidental.

Alan Greenwood (86), of Highgate, died at home on March 10th and a cause of death was given as a head injury resulting from a fall.

East Lancashire Coroner Mr Richard Taylor told the inquest Mr Greenwood had fallen and banged his head and told his wife about it at around 2am on March 10th.

The inquest heard she cleaned the cut and thought he had then fallen asleep. He was pronounced dead at 10am the same morning.
