A sponsored sleepover at Blacko Primary School has helped raised £1,555 for Pendleside Hospice.
Year 6 pupils, the school council and three teachers bought in takeaway pizza, played games and watched movies and they chose the hospice as a pupil’s mother is currently receiving treatment there.
Assistant headteacher Katie Richards said the funds from an annual treasure hunt had been added into the pot too.
She said: “The children in the council came up with the idea of a sponsored sleepover which we thought would be both excellent fun and raise lots of money. All in all we raised a phenomenal amount, are all proud of the achievement and hope it can contribute in some way to supporting the truly wonderful work, support and commitment that Pendleside Hospice and their team provide.”
