House fire was ‘arson’, say police

A fire at an empty terraced house in Montague Street, Brierfield, is being treated as arson.

The blaze, which caused serious damage to the ground floor and smoke damage to the first floor, broke out at around 8-30pm on Monday and was put out by crews from Nelson Fire Station,

Police have launched an investigation and anyone with information is asked to call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting log number 1338 of November 10th.
