A Nelson man who was planning to bring a husky track to Pendle has died suddenly.

John Duxbury, of Sibes and Sled Dogs Husky Welfare, died yesterday just days before he could realise his dream of opening the husky track which was scheduled to open in September.

In January, Mr Duxbury spoke of his delight at the approval of plans for the track at land off Greenfield Road in Barrowford.

Sibes and Sled Dogs Husky Welfare launched in 2012 and his work has also helped re-home hundreds of dogs in that time.
