LANCASHIRE Constabulary’s director of resources has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours.

David Brindle (62) has been given the MBE for services to the police. He joined the constabulary in 1995 from KPMG in Leeds, where he was the senior manager responsible for its public sector, consultancy and audit practice.

He said: “As you can imagine I’m extremely pleased and feel very privileged. My overriding emotion is one of pride.

“I’ve been lucky enough to work for a fantastic organisation with some top quality people in it. I see this award as a testament to their efforts as much as my own.

“I am already looking forward to taking my wife Wendy down to the palace to collect the award.” The couple have four children.
