An inquest has been opened and adjourned into the death of a mother from Nelson.
Miss Jill Neild (61) was found in an unresponsive state by her daughter on her sofa at home in Kendal Street on Tuesday, April 12th.
An inquest opening in front of Deputy East Lancashire Coroner Mark Williams heard that Miss Neild was a known heroin user and had also been prescribed methadone.
The inquest opening on Monday heard Miss Neild had been released from the Royal Blackburn Hospital at the end of February after being treated for pneumonia.
Mr Williams adjourned an inquest until July 26th in Burnley to allow a pathologist to undertake histological and toxicological tests to determine the cause of death.
