Students at Nelson and Colne College are planning a National Three Peaks Challenge with a difference later this month.
They are aiming to scale the heights of Ben Nevis, Scafell and Snowdon – the tallest peaks in Scotland England and Wales – without leaving Reedyford.
On Tuesday, April 26th, the 15 public services students will be launching a 12-hour bid to travel 943 miles on treadmills and exercise bikes – covering 79 miles each hour between them.
And they will also be tackling a total of 3,408 metres of ascent by managing 852 steps an hour on the stepping machine at the college.
They will set out on their Three Peaks Challenge at 8am and hope to finish by 10pm.
And they are also hoping to raise a substantial sum for Community First Responders in the process.
