A popular rescue, recovery and repair company has appointed an experienced manager to its expanding team across the North West.

John Macadam and Son, which has six depots based across the North West including its head office in Colne and is celebrating 50 years in business this year, has appointed Stephen Boardman (52) from Cleveleys as operations manager across the whole business.

“I’m thrilled with my new position at Macadams. The company is well established and respected with over 50 years in the industry,” said Stephen.

“I’m looking forward to developing my new role, meeting new people within the company and helping set the business up for another 50 years of success and more!”

Stephen is no stranger to the motor industry, having started out as an apprentice mechanic on leaving school; he has since worked for big name brands such as the AA and Halfords garage, enjoying managerial positions.

Alistair Macadam, director at John Macadam and Son, said: “Stephen’s experience and knowledge of the industry is second to none and we’re really excited to have him on the team.

“He is based at our Morecambe depot, but will be overseeing operations across the whole company.”

John Macadam and Son was founded in 1966 by owner John “Doug” Macadam, who has grown the company from a one man band, to the popular and valued business it is today.
