Only 36 parents have applied to send their children to a Pendle high school as their first choice from September.
Latest figures from Lancashire County Council show Colne Primet Academy, which has 120 places in Year 7 for the next academic year, had significantly fewer applications than other schools in the area.
At Colne’s other secondary schools, 247 parents picked Park High School, which has 186 places, as first choice for their children and 191 wanted their children to go to Fisher More RC High School, which has availability for 150 pupils.
West Craven High School in Barnoldswick attracted a total of 215 applications for the school, which has 165 places.
In Brierfield 198 parents put Marsden Heights Community College, which has 210 places, down as first choice for their children and Pendle Vale College in Nelson was first choice for 198 families.
