Co-op stores are the ethical choice
All right, Co-op food stores aren’t the cheapest but the Co-op movement is the most ethical, not withstanding the trouble at the bank of course! A glance at the history of the movement illustrates how much they have and still are improving the lot of the consumer. This is not confined to the food sector.
Then there is the other big food retailers. We pay less at the till: how is it possible? These retailers are driven purely by profit. Therefore, they won’t be as ethical at the point of their supplies and this pattern will be continued throughout the business. That is to say, if they can save a few pounds at the expense of someone’s dignity, they will do and will pass the saving on to the customer in the so-called price war.
