Parking permits: we’re doing what we can

I write in response to a letter from a “disgruntled resident” about the renewal of residents’ parking permits.

It’s correct this can no longer be done at our district offices. In preparation for changes to our cash collection service, we decided to issue parking permits centrally from 1 Market Street, Nelson. This means residents can continue to renew permits with a choice of payment methods - cash, debit/credit card and cheque.

We appreciate we are asking residents from across Pendle to come to Nelson to renew their permits. So, to reduce waiting time, we’ve set up a fast track desk in 1 Market Street specifically for residents’ parking permits. This means customers don’t have to queue alongside other customers making general payments or making lengthy inquiries.

We’re doing what we can to continue to offer services despite having to make some change to our district office cash collection arrangements.
