Running the London Marathon features on many a person’s bucket list, and so when best friends Matt Whitehead and Ian Gregory were looking to raise money for charity, they saw an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone.

They will be undertaking the famously tough task on Sunday in the name of Children with Cancer UK, a charity they both hold in high regard and for whom they have raised money before, completing the 2014 Great North Run.

The pair, who have been training and carb-loading in preparation for their first ever marathon, have raised £1,050 so far, but are aiming to reach their target total of £1,500, as well as finishing in a time under the four hour mark.

Donations can be made online on their Virgin Money Giving fundraising page.
