Parasailor airlifted to hospital after Pendle Hill crash

A PARASAILOR from Darwen was airlifted to Royal Preston Hospital from Barley after injuring himself on Pendle Hill on Monday.

The 28-year-old suffered a double compound leg fracture and a dislocated knee after jumping from the hill with his paraglider.

Soon after take-off, however, the man suffered what was described as a “severe” wind shear, which is a change of direction in the wind current, forcing him into the hillside where he crashed into rocks.
