Cracking gesture of kindness as 500 Easter eggs handed out to children in Burnley and Padiham

A Burnley company handed out 510 Easter eggs to children in Burnley and Padiham on Good Friday.

Mark Hanson, who is the owner of Burnley based Quicker Skips, said he wanted to thank the community for supporting his business over the past year.

He said: "We’ve had a good year thanks to the community support so we wanted to give something back and hopefully put some smiles on faces."

Mark donated 250 eggs and his friend and fellow businessman, Phil Monk, took this to 350 by giving another 100. Morrisons and Padiham food bank donated 80 eggs each.

Youngsters queued patiently with their families for the chocolate treats when they were handed out at Padiham Town Hall, in Burnley town centre and also Towneley Park.

Mark, who handed out the eggs out with his sons, Matthew (26) and 16-year-old Jack said: "My sons both enjoyed the day and felt it was really rewarding to make so many kids happy."
