Craig Emmott, who lives in Reading, is walking 11,000 steps a day in a bid to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK in memory of his late father George, who died recently aged 71.

The challenge has already seen Craig (39) surpass his daily total.

He said: "My dad was very well known throughout Colne having lived in the town throughout his life. He made a lot of friends working at the old foundry and ended his career at Furnico.

"I want to raise awareness of this terrible disease which is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK, killing one man every 45 minutes. I'm already smashing my daily target of steps but I have to keep it going throughout the month."
