Around 50 families took part in an Easter egg hunt on the Valour Park development off Kiddrow Lane on Saturday.

Children followed a map made by brothers, eight-year-old Miller Smithson and his brother Marlow who is four, after their mum, Leanne came up with the idea of the event, the second Easter themed one on the estate.

Leanne said: "The children and families were able to enjoy a very large Easter eggs hunt and get lots of goodies.

"The amount of people who joined in this year and took part was amazing and it’s brought us all together as a new community and family estate."

The events began last year when Leanne wondered what she could do for her sons as an Easter treat during the first lockdown.

She added: "I came up with the idea for the Easter egg hunt for all the children on the estate but it was much smaller last year with around 10 other houses taking part."

Leanne followed the first Easter event with a Hallowe'en trail, as the children were not able to go trick or treating and several families took part, trimming up their homes and leaving spooky treats outside for the children.
