The popular Easter in Colne event was due to be held on April 3rd, but organisers Colne Town Council have taken the difficult decision to cancel.

Chairman of Colne Town Council, Coun. Mary Thomas has said: "It is with heaviness in our hearts that we announce that after much deliberation and taking into consideration the Government's recent advice and announcement to start lifting Covid-19 restrictions, currently legislation will not allow us to hold the event.

"After reviewing the guidelines and the road map to begin lifting Covid-19 restrictions, it wouldn’t be appropriate to hold the event as we want to continue in preventing the spread of the virus and put the people of Colne first.

"We will be reviewing the rest of the year’s scheduled events on a month-to-month basis and we hope that we can eventually get back to our extremely exciting events schedule. We are in the process of contacting all the performers, and traders with further information and please bear with us at this time.

"Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the Colne Town Council office either by phone on 01282 861888 or via email to [email protected].

"We would like to thank all those involved with these events for their ongoing support."
