Popular Burnley pub set to go on the market

A popular Burnley pub has gone up for sale nine months after it opened.

Vintage Claret is due to go on the market with Pugh and Co property vendors and auctioneeers next month with a reserve price of £130,000.

This includes the freehold of the building on the corner of Yorkshire Street and Plumbe Street, and a five year lease with a tenant in place.

Formerly UDA, which had been derelict for several years, Burnley businessman Ian Walker bought the building and transformed it into the watering hole.

A popular meeting place for Clarets' fans, games are regularly shown there and the pub, which opened in June last year, also offers a range of gins and speciality cocktails.

Mr Walker said this week: "Vintage Claret is doing really well, it is busy and popular and a great investment opportunity for someone.

"The only reason I have decided to sell is so I can concentrate on other investment opportunities."
