Pupil Amber gives up her long locks for charity
Amber Smith (11) braved the cut on Monday morning during an assembly at Lowerhouse Primary School.
She gave up her long locks, which once fell to the bottom of her back but now reach to her shoulders, in exchange for donations to the Little Princess Trust. The charity makes free wigs for girls who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment and so far Amber has raised £150 through sponsor forms and her Just Giving page.

"She took inspiration from her brother, who has grown his hair for the purpose of doing a head shave for Cancer Research.
"It’s an exceptional cause and we are so incredibly proud of her. She has always loved her long hair so to do this for other children is such a wonderful thing to do.
"A huge thank you to everyone who has sponsored her and all who have donated to the Just Giving page. You are showing your support for an exceptional cause."
