Burnley’s big celebrity Soccer Six tournament once again hit the back of the net as stars from television, music and social media lit up the town.
A whole host of famous names ran out on the Turf Moor pitch on Sunday cheered on by hundreds of celebrity spotters who took to the stands for an afternoon of fun and football.
Former “The Only Way Is Essex” star Joey Essex was one of the headline attractions at the popular six-a-side competition, taking place in Burnley for the third time following a two year break.
Joining Joey on the day were the chart-topping Rudimental, “Britain’s Got Talent winner” Jai McDowell, star of MTV’s “Ex on the Beach” Ashley Cain, “Game of Thrones’” actress Kerry Ingram and stars from ITV 2’s Ibiza Weekender, Helen Wood, Mark Byron and Ash Harrison.
They were also joined by stars from “Coronation Street”, “X-Factor”, “I’m a Celebrity”, “Hollyoaks”, “Waterloo Road” and “Eastenders”.
A closely fought competition saw Rudimental eventually crowned champions.
The day was rounded off with a handful of the players taking to the Soccer Six: LIVE stage to perform a gig for VIP ticket holders.
Burnley FC in the Community was the official beneficiary charity for the day with money raised on the day going towards helping with sports participation, education, health, social inclusion/cohesion and community facilities.
