The cause of a huge fire at a plastics firm on the Nelson-Colne boundary is still under investigation.
Four pumps from Colne, Nelson and Burnley fire stations were called to Aquaspira Ltd in Junction Street shortly after 6-30pm last night and it is thought that their rapid intervention prevented the incident being more serious.
The crews spent around two hours at the scene dealing with the incident.
The fire, photographed here by Cecile Planque, is belived to have started in a section of plastic piping and although the premises were severely damaged, none of the staff on site at the time were affected and managed to escape without assistance.
Five cars parked near to the business were seriously damaged in the fire.
It is thought that these belonged to people working at the adjecent Woodhead Brothers abattoir.
