Pupils protest over planned library closure
Pendle Primary Academy pupils are hoping the closure of Brierfield Library is not an open and shut case.
Children gave up their day off when school was closed for polling day to protest against the proposed closure of the library.
They dressed up as their favourite book characters and created protest posters as parents completed online protest forms at the library.
Teacher Julie Gill said: “Upwards of 100 children and their parents congregated at the library on the morning to voice their concerns. The community joined together to show solidarity for this worthy cause.
“Great fun was had by all. Further protest events are in the pipeline.”
