A COLNE petrol station acquired by supermarket giant Sainsbury’s is due to open today (Friday).

Work on the refurbishment and rebranding of the former Total service station in North Valley Road started on November 5th.

The new petrol station will have six petrol pumps, an air and water tower and shop.

Lynx Forecourt Ltd, the contractors who have undertaken work on behalf of Sainsbury’s, have agreed to make a donation to Toddle In Nursery.

The money, to be presented by contracts manager Dave Bowl today, will help fund the nursery’s Surestart First Aid course to benefit pupils, workers and volunteers.

Children’s high visibility equipment and a first aid kit will also be presented to Toddle In, to improve overall safety.

A Sainsbury’s spokesman said: “This is a great opportunity for us and our contractors to support a worthwhile community amenity, which also happens to be our neighbour.”
