The Year 5 pupils from St Joseph’s Park Hill were treated to a morning of learning with an emphasis on fun when they looked at the Viking, Roman and Medieval periods with their hosts.

A series of information stations constructed and manned by the high school students kept their young visitors enthralled and entertained while cakes and buns provided welcome refreshments.

Burnley High School teacher Miss Beth Walmsley, one of the organisers of the visit, said: “They were really enthusiastic and joined in with all the activities we had laid on. And our students gave a series of terrific presentations highlighting all the work they have undertaken in the past term.”
