A main Pendle gateway damaged in the December floods is to be repaired with a share of £5m. from County Hall.

The flow of traffic on the A56 Skipton New Road in Foulridge has been restricted since the deluge on Boxing Day, which caused a serious landslide.

The project is one of 10 across the county to benefit from the fund.

County Coun. John Fillis, Lancashire County Council’s Cabinet member for highways and transport, said: “As well as causing great distress to those people whose homes and businesses were flooded, the damage wrought by the December flooding also caused significant damage to the county’s transport infrastructure, particularly our highways and bridges.

“That damage continues to cause real inconvenience to a great many people and businesses”
