Should St George’s Day be a Bank Holiday?

MONDAY, April 23rd, passed in many homes and workplaces without anyone paying attention ... but it was St George’s Day, the day in honour of England’s patron saint.

With calls for us to stir up some national pride - and MPs even calling for our own English anthem - should the day be made an official bank holiday when families and neighbours can join in a celebration of what it is to be English? Or is it simply a waste of time and a drain on the economy?
