Study: North West believes sleep more beneficial to health than good diet

A new survey has revealed that a higher number of people in the North West believe that getting more sleep would be of more benefit to their health than eating healthy and balanced meals.

The study, conducted by Simply Supplements, was carried out earlier this year revealed that across the UK, 38% of respondents said that they are 'fairly health conscious; I try to make good decisions about what I eat, drink, and how much I exercise'.

This proportion skyrockets to 45% of 25-34-year-olds but lulls to just 30% of 44-54-year-olds, perhaps demonstrating that the younger generation is more health-conscious than their parents' ilk.

That being said, 3% of carefree 18-24-year-olds said that they were 'not health conscious at all; I do not worry about what I eat, drink, or how much I exercise' compared to just 1% of 35-44-year-olds.

On the mental side of matters, 27% of respondents believed that 'thinking positively' would improve their overall health, while 36% said 'having more time to relax and de-stress' would help.
