Boy suffers broken leg after collision with car

A nine-year-old boy suffered a broken leg after a collision with a car in Varley Street in Colne.

The incident occurred at approximately 4pm on Tuesday and the boy was airlifted to Alder Hey Hospital with a suspected broken right leg.

Police said the boy had suffered a "nasty injury" and although his injuries are serious he is believed to be stable.

The driver of the car, a black Peugeot, was unharmed int he collision.

Police have appealed for witnesses and can be contacted on 101 quoting log reference 1012 of July 12th.
