Motorway was closed to allow air ambulance to land after serious accident

The air ambulance was delpoyed to the M65 following a serious accident today.

The motorway was closed in both directions at Junction 5 (Guide/Shadsworth) to Junction 6 (Blackburn/Whitebirk) around teatime to allow the air ambulance to land.

Three cars were involved in the accident.
